Concerning HAsbro toy interior

Hi folks, I'm completely new in modding and a total noob...;) I have bought quite a nice custom saber hilt. Now I want to insert the stuff from a toy lightsaber from qui gon....quite old, when EP one came out. I want to use it with two AA Batteries, I guess that will work. The biggest problem I have is, that till now the sword works with a real small light bulp, now I want to exchange it with a led....is that possible....or this the whole idea I had impossible...please help me...!

It has been done multiPle times. You can find the diagrams by going to cutaway views and wiring schematics. There is a sticky called cheapy/economy hasbro boards. Everything you need to know is there.
