Hi everyone,

I am seriously looking at running a String blade.
I currently have a 1A buckpuck, but running an LED every 0.5inches means at best I can get a 16.5" blade!

I am looking at using http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Constant-current-LED-driver-P609.aspx running at 1500ma.

would this driver work (along with the shimmer effect) OK?
I'm not worried about using any scrolling (I only have a 2010 el-cheapo vader soundboard), so I'm assuming it will just act like a "single" LED.

Also, running this driver, would I connect the driver and the soundboard from the same switch? would I need a double pole type or could I run it from a single?

Thanks in advance!

I would think that by using that kind of a driver, you would blow out your LED's by feeding them too much current. I could be wrong though.

If they are all run in parallel the 1500Ma should be spread out between all the LEDs....
I have played with a buckpuck in this kind of config, but there aren't any nice effects, that and the puck does take up a huge amount of space in the hilt (along with the extra relay and stuff to run off the cheapy sound board)
