Alternative Painting Technic

I read the Sticky: Part Painting and Baking Tutorial, by equinox13. It made me think. "Automotive Paint", maybe less accessible to most, but the outcome would be just as good, wouldn't it?

In automotive paints I found an anodizing looking spray paint that translucent. It also comes with a metallic base primer for when you're not spraying on a metallic surface. I used it and it works great. One problem I could see with automotive paints otherwise is they usually require so many coats to get opaque coverage. It's also runnier so it'll drip easier.
