I'm starting off simple on this and adding a sound card and speaker later, but am wondering if the pieces I am planning on ordering will hold what I need for now. I was thinking of just getting an emitter, pommel, and basic hilt piece for now and getting an extension piece for later when I want to add sound. I will be putting the switch in the pommel. Will the 6AA battery holder fit in this limited space?

i think you need another piece, the battery holder is long

It sounds like you'll need to add one of these:

If you are doing a 5w then you should have the extension piece anyway. If you are doing the 3w then you only need the 4AAA holder which is perfect for the job. you can fit a sound card in w/o the extension as well.

Nope if your doing a basic three watter with sound it will all fit in the standard hilt. If you want sound and Corbin's board you may need an extension but I would not know for sure as I haven't done a Corbin card yet. If you look in the LED blade pics you will see where Firebird did one that way. There is a good shot of it in the share pics setion too I think.
