I was wondering if anyone has put a trim ring in between an MHS part and a MHS gear? Weather or not the Gear is too fat for the trim ring to cinch down properly? Thanks

i haven't done it and i don't need to. it's too thick - you can tell that from pictures, the MHS builder, and just looking at its product page. the OD of standard MHS parts is 1.5" and as per the description, the OD of the gear is 1.6".

It would not fit like it would on other parts but I think it will still get locked in place and look fine.

I've tried it for an upcoming build, and it does lock into place. It's exactly as you would think. The Gear piece pushes right up to the side of the trim ring. The other side of the trim ring fits the normal way to any other piece.

i stand corrected on the locking then. however, my tape measure still says the OD of my MHS parts is 1.5".

MHS parts are 1.45" OD, 1.25" ID. Look in the MHS thread in New to the Saber Scene.

O.o then i think it's time to find a new tape and not use a fabric tape... and it's been a few months since i read that thread too... thanks LM...

Invest in calipers. I got some digital ones for like $30 at Home Depot that convert from standard to fractions to metric. It was one of the best purchases for sabers that I've made

something else i have to order from the states then... bloody mail taking weeks on end... and then there's the fact that the exchange carries NOTHING i really need and everything off base is metric.
