<font face="Courier New"><font color="purple">Hi

First, thanks to everyone on here. Every time I needed questions answered I just looked and found them here without even asking!

Now back to the question. For my current saber project I’m planning on having two red 3w Luxeon in it, one to light up the blade and the other to light up a crystal chamber. I’m also going to be using a MR sound board. Plus I’ll be using 4 AAA batteries.

My questions is can you wire up both Luxeon’s to the MR sound board or should I just wire up one to the board and the other one separately? I looked in the forums for the answer but I couldn’t find anything.

Any help would be great, thanks!

I would only wire the blade luxeon to the MR sound board. The total ma for two luxeons is greater than what the sound board could do and you run the risk of damage to the sound board or the leds would not be as bright. Wire the second luxeon sperate from the blade led. Something to consider would be a 3 watt luxeon for the blade and a 1 watt luxeon with a mircopuck led driver connected to the battery pack with a DPST switch one side could turn on the sound board board and blade the other would turn on the crsytal led.

I did a similar setup but in a staff. If you want really nice bright LED's and a great sounding board the get yourself a buckpuck to drive the Luxs. I used a DPDT switch to run the sound board off one side and the buckpuck on the other. You could also do a Corbin board if it can take both LEDs I am not sure as I haven't had the pleasure to use one yet however that is on my list for an upcoming job[:D]

Corbins driver is very nice and it is on my list for a planned saber but I have a true fondness for the Luxdrive led drivers they make it simple to wire up your saber and you get the best life out of your batteries with them. I tend to use the luxdrive led drivers in most of my sabers.

Great minds think alike[:D]

I will be happy when my 700mh buckpucks come in. I have been sitting on a 5w white since all I had was 1000mh units. I would also like to do a 5w Royal Blue.

OK guys, I said unit again, have fun.

think of how much batteries it will just suck up.my suggestion is to go for those 5mm leds, they are cheap and not that bright but they do the job well

I DONT KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT!!....LOUD NOISES!!!

<font color="purple"><font face="Courier New">Thanks Guys

I thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to run both off the one sound board. I'll just wire the other one up separately!</font id="Courier New"></font id="purple">
