equinox13's MHS4 - glacialis incendia

where to begin... a parts list i guess...

MHS exterior parts
Obi econo board - the LED outputs have the resistors removed and jumpered
larger vibe motor - Obi LED output resistored at 42 ohms
Blue P4 wired for stunt w/optional sound as always - also matches the AV switch LED perfectly ^_^
TCSS 'premium' speaker
recharge port and single 18650 Li-Ion

the paint on the non-black part is primer/baked, 2 coats hunter green/baked, and a very light coat of stainless steel so the green shows through/baked. the black parts were primered, dried naturally, then i put 4 light coats of ultra-flat black on, then baked them, then put on 2 more coats and baked that. then i rubbed my hands all over the black parts after eating to give them a bit of a 'worn' look. the screws were put in before painting.

underneath the rubber O-rings is a set of reverse sound holes - hence why i'm keeping the O-rings on. both to hide the holes and muffle/filter the sound. in the pommel i have the premium speaker in a speaker mount and a second pommel insert and 2 layers of foam padding to muffle the higher pitches and give it that nice deep thrum. ^_^

I really like the blue accent pieces on this piece :) Good choice and it seems to flow nicely from tip to tail.

Another awesome saber. You will have to tell me how you made your re-charge port so I can do it myself next time. :p

I hate it... Not the saber, but that the design is so damn sick!!! Great job and really wonderful work.

Very cool. Curious as to what the name refers to or means.

it's latin. it roughly means frozen fire. i thought that rather fitting since the black parts look fire-touched and the flair is cold blue.

Very fitting indeed.

Reminds me of the dark woman saber a bit...

COOL!

Of all you've shown us I like this one best. The black looks purple on my screen and very nice too. Too bad it isn't really that colour. I really like the two blue thumb screws...great idea. Does the second one have a purpose or just balancing the look? I'm a bit confused by two things...

A- How did you mount your speaker with the screws blocking the thread? Must be a shaved down holder set back deeper is it?
B- what you got going on for the aux switch? Leaving it open for an upgrade?

BTW...You're holding it backwards!..lol

*sigh*
The "aux" activates the sound, main switch activates light.
Equinox does this in all her builds.

I didn't read all the other threads so, my bad...I knew some people did this but it's hard to keep track of everyone. I sure this way mentioned on another thread too but ..So the mom switch turns on the board and a latching AV does the light?

that's it exactly, CC. ^_^ and as i said above, i jumpered the Obi LED output and hooked that to a resistored vibe motor.

as for the screws, the only one that interferes that i had to cut a slot for was the rear one holding the box on. as for the purplish tint, i forgot to reset the white balance from an event earlier so the UV from the flash really shows up bright. that lets me show off the paint texture though, so i'm ok with it for now. ^_^

thanks for the great comments! ^_^

Garcia - it's the standard wiring for recharge ports that's on the forums. it's stickied in the schematics and wiring diagrams area.

Very nice work. I like it alot. Im guessing its about 11.5 - 12 inches long?

11.25" - a little shorter than some, but it feels VERY good in hand.

Cool. Did you have to cram all of your components in there or is it nice and roomy?

i had to use a bit of padding, but everything fits fairly nicely.
