sharpie. dremel. paint. sand. viola.

(sharpie to draw the lines, dremel to carve it out, the whole part was painted, and the excess was sanded - leaving only the grooves filled in)

Beautiful engravings! I'll bet that took a loooooooooooong time. ;)

Wasn't too bad. I do darn near everything the hard way... so I'm used to it... kinda rock-headed like that.

Did you use the diamond tip engraving bit for the dremel? How difficult was it to etch?

I used the little ball looking head. It's hard to keep steady (for me, at least), but it cuts easy enough.

Yeah I've used that before to engrave PVC. Good to know it works on aluminum. It is pretty difficult to control.

Awesome saber, I really like the inner chamber

i really like what you did with the engraving, and the inner chamber.
i would really like someone to make a curved darth bane too. that would be cool but the only problem is that there isnt enough description to get a good idea of what it looks like :\

Drew K calls it "hooked".... enough so that he can hang it on his belt. I picture that being a relatively straight hilt but with a hook end. Kind of like some of ALW's hilts - those have "hooks", or "curved claws" rather. So not so much angled, but with that hook feature. Zat makes sense?

Another creative approach...keep them coming. Is that an MR board? Does the RGB for the "chamber" light the blade too? The grips on that look awesome and comfy too! I don't really like the engraving but you did a great job. I'd be tempted to weather the engraved areas so that it's not such a bright aluminum colour. Sith sabers make me want to weather them more then Jedi sabers too.

It's a CF v4. The prolite is rigged to be FoC in the chamber, but it's not connected. And the main LED is a Lux3 Red which is mounted on the extended part past the polyC. And it IS very comfy.
