So I'm finally posting my first saber - as well as those of a buddy of mine Xythlord. We decided to jump into the saber building together - probably to the chagrin of our wives.

Xythlord designed his and his wife's, and had some design input on mine.
For simplistic sake (1st timers) we went with direct drives on them, standard kit from Tim with buckpuck's in Xythlords and just a resistor in mine (for now).

I did the majority of the wiring on them - but now that I've done basic setup, I'm looking forward to setting them up with rechargeables and sound cards, at the very least on the ones to follow.

On to a couple photos:

Mine is the black one in the middle with the Red Lux 3 blade, his are the other two top & bottom, both with Cyan LEDs.

Solid and simple.. Classy... and good use of the services in the store to execute your designs... Very nice...

Thank you all. I was a little surprised by how much cram-fu was needed on direct drive sabers. By the last one we were getting smarter on how to do it, but I there is still room for improvement. =)

Very cool sabers! Where did you get that blue accent led??!?

Found the LED on a PC (as in computer) building site, they've got all kinds of parts for building computer cases, wiring etc.

Nice. This goes to show that you can do a lot with a little. A neat overlay, some accent leds, powder coating, etc. and you have some clean and attractive sabers that have your own personal touches to the design.
Great job to both of you.

I really like the top one..simple..nice.. 'switch plate' adds to it.

I was surprised how well the media blast really "works" on the sabers.

For sure! It's not a loud effect but an effective one. Very good choices for sure. As you move on you'll find the wiring on these to be so simple. I like the top one best myself.
