Hello,

I've been a visitor of your site for a while, making saber designs in your MHS builder, but I've just recently signed into the forums.

Anyway, I have a design I am in love with, but I hesitate to purchase it because I have no idea how it would look in "real life" as opposed to the graphics in the builder. I am going to post a pic of four of my favorite designs (not all original), and ask if it's possible to get an idea of what it might look like. If this is something that I shouldn't be asking, then just let me know and I'll keep fantasizing until I can afford to purchase the parts and build it.

The design I'm wondering about is the third one down in the attachment.

Thanks all!
Captain Mills

One thing to keep in mind when building sabers with the builder program is that the parts are threaded and screw together, and drilling into those threads to add decorative screws can damage the connecting threads. In case you didn't see it, there's a box that you can check in the upper right panel of the builder that says "thread hints." This will show you the location, depth and type (male or female) of the threads on the parts when activated.

The only potential problem I see with the third design down, is those MHS gear parts may not line up perfectly with each other if you screw them together like that.

How would you close off the opening in the blade holder you have as the pommel in design #1?

Jay-gon Jinn,

Thanks for your reply. The screws I put all over the hilt were mostly for decorative purposes. As you mentioned, my biggest concern is how the gear extensions will line up. I was hoping this might be chimed in on...

Jedi-Loreen,

Thanks for your question. It was put there as a place holder for the "radiator" style pommel I would get somewhere else. I don't know if they're in stock, but the clamps are gone here and would need to be purchased elsewhere...

Thanks!

So, looking at that third design down, how would the gears fit together? Would they line up? Is there any way to help them line up?

You can lightly sand or file parts to get them to line up how you want. Shouldn't be that hard, just a slow process to get them perfect. But totally doable

Also study internal part placement & size. Those designs don't leave you much space.

Another question, and I didn't want to start another thread for this, so I included it in my other one...

Has the Blade Holder 19 ever been used before? The MHS SaberBuilder doesn't have a good version of it, and I'm hoping I can see it "in action."

Thanks!
CM

Thanks all, for the replies! I really like that blade holder, and it's too bad that it doesn't show up well in the MHS builder...

Thanks again!
