I was thinking.. there is no purple leds, and some of you don't like the coloured discs... why don't you combine 2 leds: one blue and one red... I have a small led laser toy that uses 3 leds: one blue, one yellow and another red, and it creates: besides the ones i mentioned: orange light, purple light, and pink light... i think that with one red and one blue it has to work nice...
What do you think?

i think this has been discussed before, and that it does not work properly because the red is so much more powerful than the blue.

Purple is a hard color to reproduce, you either need a tri color led that you can adjust each color to balance it for purple or use a filter or my solution to a purple blade. http://thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=592

Yup, straight up adding the two is difficult as the red likes to shine through. You'd need to tweak it yourself with some pots. So basically... look at the RGB LED threads.[:p]
