PLI and Ultrasound 2.0

I was thinking about upgrading my first saber (again) by using the new Activation Box Style 1 and a PLI. If I get I understand it, all I have to do is hook up the positive wires together and the negative from the PLI to the momentary switch. would this work with the momentary tactile switch?

I just tried it, and the PLI lamination is very dim and I'm getting a little feedback from the speaker. Just incase I put in fresh batteries but still the same result. Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong? The PLI I'm using is the previous version from TCSS, a 4pack AAA battery holder and the PLI is set to 6v, and a longneck tactile switch.
