Well I have been very quiet lately I have just been super busy for the longest time. But I have also been working on a twin set of sabers. Took my sweet time making these mainly because I was being lazy but I finally finished them up yesterday, and here they are...

As usual all aluminum work is custom done by myself and lots of time and sweat :) my wife just bought me a new cross slide mill vise so its bee fun to use that for the first time too.

These look sweet. you did a great job. The use of screws giving the segmented look is very appealing.

Very sleek, smooth design. Those are awesome. It has to be nice having your own lathe. You get to create whatever you want. That's awesome.

Hah, I wish I had a lathe... I do all my "lathing" the poor mans way on the drill press. But its workable.

The balance on these is very good actually since evry thing is centered inside, and by working the middle section into a slight hour glass shape it is nice to grip, along with the rubber rings to keep your grip from sliping up or down. They are also set into grooves I cut in so they are low profile enough to handle directly if you chose.

I wish I had a lathe too... :(

Great job on these - they make me think of starkiller for some reason...
I love the subtle "neck" in the mid-saber. Was that lathe'd in (i.e. cut out) or was that just "squeezed" somehow?

I have to agree with everyone else here.
Very sleek. I bet they are nice to fight with.
I like the look placement of the screws give as well.
Nice work! :)

Those are NiMHs, not Li-ions. ;)

Where did you get those nice switches? What size aluminum tubes did you use? What is your pommel speaker "grill" made of?

Cannibal - Yes the shape is the mid section was indeed "lathed". You can see I accidently cut one of them deeper than the other :)

vargose - those switches I got off e-bay, from hong kong lol took forever to show up. they are just silver coated plastic.

The inner Tube is a 1 1/2" stainless steel and the outer is 1 3/4" aluminum.

The pommel cap is just aluminum drilled out and coated with black enamel.

Dude thats amazeing I would never have thought of that. My next question is how in the heck do you do that, & does it take a long time?

Great job! the rings and bolts and switches....nice.

I've done some basic "lathing" like this myself just to turn down the OD of something now and then. If he did it the same way then you bolt your piece in like a drill bit and give it a whirl. I think the only hard part would be setting up some type of guide to steady your tools.

yeah darth midian, crystal go it right. I just strap the piece into the drill press and work the pipe with my dremmel free hand and then clean it all up with files. You can see a picture of my set in this saber build i did here (http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?t=10758)
