I am going to do another style and want some input from the community. So now is your chance to let me know what you want. Everyone seems to like the new colored ones we made available recently. For this next run what would you like to see different?

Different thread size?
Longer threads?
Different head size?
Different head shape?

I think i talk for most when i say we appreciate the new choices in colors.

Now for a different choices, i would not mind different shapes. Enough so it doesn't look just like a screw, but a vital part of the lightsaber.

Something like fake buttons that simply screw on, in different size/colors. Nothing too complicated, but enough to add some 'fake' functions to our lightsabers.

I also would like to see longer threads, for some of us that need to go through thicker material and/or multiple layers.

P.S: Bunny Ears please :D

I really love the new colors.

I like the screw-types that are already in the store, and would like to see them in at least a brass/copper/black look (other colors would be great, too).

If we had an option for 10-32 screws, as well, that would be great. I think 10-32 screws give more of a bite when you use them for blade retention.

I think some 6-32 ones would be nice. They will screw into nylon spacers to make kill keys. The 8-32 is too big for the right sized spacer. I got some 6-32 thumb screws from a computer place and they fit the nylon spacer but I like yours much better. ;)

^Exactly what I was going to say. ;)

Yeah, ones with 10-32 threads would be great.
The "cone knob" style screws like on the ROTJ V2 would be cool.

Oh, and since you ordered the 8-32 taps and tap handles, could you make some more Dooku conversion kits? Now that the taps are coming and the last Dooku kit went a while ago I will have to wait even more..

Different head size and shape would be very cool.

Guys, this thread is about screws. Let's please keep it on topic.

This is not the Store Wish List thread. *Looks at Ronan and Rafalema*

I would like to see some cone shaped ones.
Maybe some shaped like resistors in 6-32 thread.

I am not screwing around, i'm on topic. Tim asked for different screw types. Hence why i proposed button screws and different shapes for the screw heads.

I'm referring to your P.S. where you ask for bunny ears. Did you forget that part? http://www.sunriderbase.com/board/images/smilies/eyebrow.gif

We will soon have a new kill plug that will fill some of your needs in that regard..

If you have a certain shape you would like to see done I need to see a pic of it. I am only going to consider 8-32 and 10-32 at this time. If you want one done I need specifics like..

No knurl
with knurl
.5" diameter head
.5" thread length
etc..

If you just put generic ideas out there then they probably will not happen.

This with a 3/8" head width and a 5/8" head length, maybe?

Standard thumb screw in brass.

I'll post more, shortly. I had some work dumped in my lap.

Gonna go on a limb...

Can you make the head diameter smaller and with the center more hollow or something?

When i say small, i mean small, like that we could attach 2-3 of them and give the impression they are 'fine tuning knobs' or something :D

I like the coloured ones you have already but noticed there was no green option...so I'd like to suggest that and also having the normal buttonhead 8-32 screws available in the same range of colours so you could match them when attaching shrouds etc. And I'd second the one in revengeoftheseth's first pic...that looks very cool imo.

I found a different type of screw that I had not seen before (thumb screw), which came out of my 2005 Darth Vader ESB Force FX Saber. Right below the emitter shroud, there is a long 'switch box' type black piece with a thumb screw in it. I took it out and tried to take a picture, but the macro setting on my camera wouldn't focus in on it for some reason. But if you have one of those sabers, you might know what I am talking about.

I would like to see the Graflex "button" as well as "lens" type of thumb screws. And if the lens type was hollow to allow light from the blade to illuminate the lens that would be very nice. In fact any sort of hollow screw to allow the blade light to shine through would be nice. I also like the ideas posted about the unusual head designs. Basically any way to disguise the fact it is a thumb screw would be good. Making Accent lights and fake saber controls out of them would be perfect.

Heads
I like the small cone knob idea but my only concern is grip. It would have to have a band of knurling somewhere. I've used the socket head screws as thumbscrews and they work well.

Length
I think making longer a priority is a good idea. They're easy to grind down or cut off if you need them shorter.

Colour
As far as colours I'm glad to see all the new options and surprised to see which ones were chosen. Aluminum, brass, black, and red, would be the first ones I'd expect because most of these colours would fit on any saber.

They are in the store under the graflex section IIRC.

Both the red button and glass eyes are out of stock and from what I've heard won't be back. No more graflex, or heiland parts.

That stinks, too. I just got a sweet deal on a Heiland and there isn't anything I can get for it.
