I built this one for a friend of mine in the Rebel Legion that costumes as Madame JoCasta Nu. I never really found a very good reference photo from any official source for what the character's actual lightsaber may have looked like, so we gave up on trying to make a replica (those aren't my specialty, anyway ;) ) and settled on a brass 1 1/4" diameter custom for her instead.

The original brass tube was one of the ones I got from Signaturehardware.com, and was the last of the ones that had the "polished brass coating" on it, so it naturally peeled off while I was working on it leaving me with a chrome hilt. I sent it to a friend of mine, Master Jedye, from Gemini Concepts after I had drilled all of the holes and cut the tube for the switch box, and he did a great job, as usual, with the Translucent Gold powder coating.

The sound board is a Master replicas/Hasbro Force FX Jedi board running a Seoul P4 blue led. The green accent led comes on as the kill plug is pulled, while the switch led activates with the blade. Blade pictured is a TCSS Trans-White thin-walled.

Very nice. I hadn't seen anyone else use the new activation box yet, and was wondering how it would look on a saber. Sometimes it's hard to tell what something will look like just from the pictures of individual parts. I like the idea of using the extra hole for a accent led.

Simple and clean, I'm sure your friend will love it.

Wow Jay-Gon!
The Sinktube adapter and that bladeholder with its choke blend so well!

Very lucky new owner...

Nice one as always Jay! I wish I could use a pipe cutter worth a damn. I could never get those lines that straight.

Actually, being that I designed that box, I've been using it with great success for the last 2 years. LDM has also used it on several of his sabers as well.

Ahh, I've just been watching for new sabers with that box since Tim put them in the store. I didn't realize they were the same as yours.

-1 to Silver Serpent for lack of attention to detail. :)

I like how this turned out. It seems a bit un-balanced to me, with a lot of brass in the rear and not so much at the blade holder. The lines, as always, are great.

I was following this build, I like the implementation of the Accent LED instead of the aux switch for clash. I was havng the same issue with my recent build (power on sound instead of clash) until I hooked up the main LED, then the aux switch worked as intended.

Nice work Jay!

I'm usually not too crazy about the look of the sinktube pommels but the 1.25 sinktube and MHS adapter balances it out much better. Really weird that it was chrome under brass. Normally it's the other way around.

Thanks Crystal! The sink tube is made of solid brass, but apparently the company that makes them goes the cheap route with making them look polished....they are chrome plated, and then coated again over the chrome with a coating that has gold color to it:

As soon as I put the tubing cutter to it to make the grip marks, it cracked and began peeling off:

Needless to say, I won't be using these ones anymore....If I need another 1 1/4" brass tube, I'll just get a chrome one and have it powder coated like I ended up doing with this one.
