Let me start off in saying that I did not plan to make this saber at all lol

The idea for this saber started when I was organizing a few things in my room and found some left over saber parts. Quite a few of the parts I planned to throw away because I messed up apart of it and couldn't imagine being able to use it at all.

A couple days later I was replaying The Force Unleashed and I became inspired to create a "sith styled saber". So yes, i got most of my inspiration from Starkiller's saber...but I decided to add different touches during the construction.

I've been attracted to the "weathered" look for awhile now, but I had never attempted it. Also I had been wanted to give a crystal chamber a shot. And lastly, for the led, I asked myself this question.."who said a sith saber had to be red?"

specs:
-Rebel star Amber led powered by a 1000 buckpuck
-accent led for the crystal chamber
-Red illuminated momentary switch
-paint/paint thinner for weathered look
-blow torch used on end of sink tube for blue tint

Here it is. I named it "Velox Caedo" which means "Swift Kill" in latin>

looks like you used heatsinks to hold the crystal, cool. Oh, and I like the weathering ;)

Yes I used heatsinks to hold the crystal at first..but I ended up gluing the crystal in the end. Also notice I used a 2" mhs extension powder coated piece for the center. I cut it out for the chamber and also the threading was messed up. The switch hole I had made already but it was too big for my last project so I made it bigger and used an illuminated switch. This hilt is kinda made with "frankenstein" pieces lol It was really odd though how much came to me when I was constructing the cosmetics of this saber..almost like someone told me exactly what to do.

Great job !! :!:
How did the weathering?
Forgive but I do not speak English well!

Nice! Well maybe not nice. More like Killer! 2 things I have to ask is what are you using for a crystal? It looks nothing like quartz but lights up well. Also are you left handed? It looks like a nice lefty grip for thumb activation. Oh wait make that 3 things...Why a mom switch and how did you get it to work without a sound board?

Wow..I didn't expect this much feedback, thanks so much!

I know the pics were kinda crappy so I took some new ones for you guys>

Corcalina:
I weathered this hilt using a combination of sandpaper, heavy duty automatic sander (for the chrome sink tube) slashed it with a hack saw a number of times, flat head screw driver, Pliers on grip to give it some teeth marks. I mixed matte black paint with paint thinner and use a paint brush to apply it. Then I put it by a fan (only takes 5 mins or so to dry). I just tried the blow torch on the sink tube and I was really impressed with the results.

Chambers:
haha "Killer" I like that! I used a clear acrylic crystal I found outta somebody's fish tank (also I had an acrylic piece from a chandelier I was gonna use originally, but I broke it..that works great too btw) and I just used my heavy duty sander to give it some distinctive features. I'm ambidextrous so either way holding it works for me. Yeah the momentary switch I ordered awhile back when I didn't know what I was doing lol So I decided to use it on this hilt since most of the other parts were rejects. I was intimidated at first to attempt a accent light on top of wiring an illu switch, but it worked out. I took advice from Loreen and Matt Thorn and followed the resistor charts located on the store site. The wiring worked out easy enough..the hard part was soldering inside the hilt :( I just "Y"ed the wires off from the puck to switch and accent led with resistors..no soundboard needed. Also this rebel led was rated for 700ma..so I over drove it a bit and used a 1000ma puck:)

It's a miracle the sink tube came out so well..I'm not really that great at using a dremel. Also for those of you wondering why I used an accent led vs. a brighter led? I've seen a lot of custom hilts where they use bright accent leds on the hilt..and honestly I think it takes away from the blade. So I used something just bright enough to light up the crystal..but not enough to challenge the brightness of the blade.
