Hi everybody... I m from Argentina, so pardon my english.
I already have all the electronics parts, and i need to wire them all together.
Correct me if i am wrong: From baterry holder i had the red and black wires: i need to connect the black one to the led (negative).
The red one goes to the switch button, then to the ressistor and finally to the led (positive).
Thanks for the info... I have been looking in the forum but i couldnt find any diagram...[:D]

Yeah, I don't believe there is a diagram on the site because it follows the tutorials pretty closely for a basic setup like that.

You have it correct though.[:)]

thats right if your wiring directly, if your using a sound board to run the led, then it depends on what board your using. those tutorials for them are here in the forum.

Thanks guys... and no, I m not using any sound board.
Another doubt:
I have the Luxeon III Emitter, not the star, and i m wondering which one is the positive and which the negative. On one side there is a little piece of metal with a tinny hole (i think this is the positive) and on the other side there is a piece of metal like a letter "C" or like this "[",(i think this is the negative)... Does anyone know if i m right? Thanks

Here's a link with that info:

But I'm concerned - are you planning to attach your emitter to a heat sink of some kind? If not - you will burn it out.

Yes... I m planning to attach it to a heat sink... that is exactly the only piece i dont have yet. Is it necessary that the blade holder is aluminium made? I have a nice piece of plastic from a water pipe that fits OK, and was plannnig to buy an aluminium heat sink, i mean only the part where the led is attached... will it work fine? or the blade holder reduces temperature as well?
Thanks

The blade holder does take away some of the heat (that's the one sold here though). If you aren't using it though you can have a bigger heatsink and then the blade holder doesn't need to be aluminum. It certainly helps to be metal though for the blade.

it would be better to use a star 3 or 5 watt, and tims holder for good heatsinking

I know that Tim's partsa are better, but for me they are too expensive... I have most of them with half the money i would have spent in Tim's shop... and i do not include the shipping charges to South America...
Thanks for your answers...

tims stuff expensive? palease, tim stuff is very inexpensive. he only has a few things here that are a bit high, but the majority, of everything i need is extremely affordable. You wont get any better a deal elsewhere. and that goes for ultra and corbin too. the holy trinity has the best quality parts and the best prices i ever seen.

I agree, Tim's prices are more than fair plus they last and work, I wouldn't buy anywhere else. Thank You Master Stryder!!![8D]

Thanks

It is tough with cost for you due to the money exchange ratio and the shipping can be a killer. I will say that it is hard to find a good subsitute for Tim's blade holder. You can try using a large aluminum bolt to heat sink your led or a computer cpu heat sink could be cut down to fit in your hilt and that would work. For a blade holder you can use some metal tubing that has the proper inside diameter to match your blade and have it machined to fit inside your hilt. I would recommend Tim's blade holde it will save you a lot of work even if you have to save money up for it you will be glad you did.
