can you sleeve the board with a large size heatshrink tubing?

the larger heatshrink tubing tends to be thicker and resists such nicks, etc.

most sound and driver boards just come 'as is' from the PCB house...people then install them in cores or chassis to fit their build/project..

that being said I wouldnt offer any case/shell with it..

for yoru own personal build..just use a PVC tube as an inner sleeve..or even some film canisters work in a pinch..

Conformal coating sounds like a bad idea. PCBs are impossible to work on with that junk applied. there are many ways to separate metal parts inside hilts.
