This is a General Rahm Kota replica... I named it "Shogun" for the obvious eastern/samurai influences in both the hilt and the character. Plus, Shogun means "commander of an army".

I was insptired & motivated by Ro's Kota hilt (http://ro-lightsaber.blogspot.com/2010/05/rahm-kota-lightsaber.html). It wasn't supposed to be a copy, so there's differences to that one too. And really, one of the reasons I like these EU hilts so much is that it DOES require some interpretation - the lack of consistancy means I can fill in my own. ;)

Specs:

LEDEngin RGGB (G-x2, R-CoF)
CF V4.2
14500 x2
Scratch-built aluminium hilt
Flattened sides
Black athletic tape for tsuka-wraps

Looks good. I love the pommel insert! The tie thread ends look a little thin. That is the only thing that seems out of place. Great saber!

I like it. The wrap is cool. I've used that kind of tape before for boffer weapon handles. Good stuff.

Awesome job!

Just out of curiosity, is the pommel supposed to be reminiscent of the imperial seal (or am I hallucinating again)?

Thanks y'all. The wrap wasn't hard -a little time consiming, maybe- but certainly not rocket surgery.

The tie-down isn't quite how I want it. I plan on changing it, and probably getting rid of some of the bunched-uped-ness... and maybe make it brown.

@Cannibal - actually, I didn't notice it until you just said it. :D It wasn't intended to look that way, but it does. ;)

That is EXACTLY why I love it. Imperials whahaha. In a jedi saber none the less.;)

this saber is right up my alley, samurai!!! bro make another one but make it dark, like as if rahm kota fell to the darkside after galen marek's supposed death... super cool saber two thumbs up!

Hey, that sounds like a cool idea - But you should do it! You seem to be well enough prepared by the looks of your sigs. ;)

i just might but i have a jedi saber in the process of being processed... funnily enough it is a warped obi-wanesque that i am preparing for. But a darkside rahm kota saber with sith beads hanging off the pommel and red blade is very tempting... no.... must.... resist........ must.... complete.... jedi saber.... first... LOL.

So on your ito/tsuka maki did you glue it down to the metal sleeve or what?

Overall it's a very intiretsing saber, great job.

I wonder what it would look like with some weathering. As you are an expert in this art, it could be awesome. Thumbs up

The pommel was pretty easy, it's three parts: 1.5" OD x 1.25" ID tube (outermost shroud), 1.25" OD x 1.125" ID tube (inside sleeve), and a 1.125" rod x 1/2" (end cap). The 1.25" sleeve has equi-distant sections cut out (like a crown) about 3/4" or a little past the end of the end cap. That's what makes the gaps (a la imperial cog) for the sound holes. The end cap is just painted black and held in place with a set-screw.

I didn't need to weather this one... one reason why I've done so many weathered sabers is because I make a lot of mistakes... if a mistake is too big to conceal... *poof* - it's a weathered saber. :D

Ooh, a wizard doesn't give all his secrets. Look at the bright side. Doing mistakes on your sabers has made you an expert in weathered. This hilt is great anyway.
