Airsoft Anybody?

Now i know some of you guys are into airsoft, as you have stated before, so i figured i'd start an entire topic about it, because i'm now getting into it.
I like the idea of airsoft better than paintball since i'm more of a plinker, and i can fire the guns in the house without making a mess. I've just bought myself a JLS H&K Mark 23, also known as the SOCOM pistol. Its my first electric pistol, i have 2 springers already. I want to get a rifle too, but more like a sniper rifle than an assault rifle. Any suggestions? store suggestions? should i try getting a local gun store to stock them? Anyone with ideas, or airsoft anecdotes, i'd love to hear it, have a 70 page thread on airsoft, like you sith brothers have on your vader suits.

D I C K's Sporting Goods has a fairly decent selection, I dunno if they have that franchise where you live. There's also tons of online stores that sell all different kinds. As soon as they come out with an authentic Calico machine gun I'm totally there.

I was thinking of getting into Airsoft m'self. I stumbled upon a few of the products when I was in D I C K's Sporting Goods; I really liked the "mossburg" shotgun style one and the Walther P-99 I saw.

I just may have another hobby...

It's not just divided into "Airsoft" and "Non airsoft". You have to click on the category of Airsoft gun first. Under products, AEG (Automatic Electic Gun), Gas pistrols and SMG's, spring guns, sniper rifles, etc. You then go by manufacturer, in the drop down menus (Tokyo Marui, Classic Army, etc.) Redwolf is one of the largest online retailers.

I think you were looking at the "New releases".

I have a cheap electric one. It's pretty weak, but being automatic is fun as ever.

Someday I'll get a decent pistol and maybe a rifle. For now though sabers are #1... I was limiting myself to two this summer, but if Erv's sound board is available I may have to bend that self-imposed rule.[:)]

Bought one of these in February, runs off of Propane, Full metal (so it's pretty heavy), gas blowback (silde moves back when firing), and best of all.....

my loadout is a Tokyo Marui G36C and a KWA Glock G19. Played my first game last saturday. Turnout was 250 people broken up into 3 teams. Paintball usually never has a turnout that big. It was great fun.

Redwolf is great to look at descriptions but the problem is it has to ship from Asia ($$$) and there is always the chance US Customs may hold it indefinitely.

I had a hard time choosing between the G36C, the P90 and the G3 SAS. I may still get the P90 next year.

I love the fact that in full auto my rifle can shred an aluminum can.

If there are Airsofters in Bay Area CA, let me know and maybe we can play the next game in Fort Ord.

dentrinity.com is the cheapest site i have found. i bought a thompson M1A1, high capacity magazine, upgraded spring and motor for $411 including 2 day shipping. wgcshop.com has the same prices as dentrinity most stateside places have just the gun and a battery for like 350.

ugh so that JLS socom i bought was garbage, i'm contacting the seller to see if i can return it... shouldve expected for only ten bucks to get crap. i think i'm gonna splurge and buy a gas one, but i dont know if i want to get the TM one, that has a fixed slide and is only 123$ with a fake LAM and Silencer, or go for the KSC one, that has GBB and i think a metal slide, for 160.

If you want silence, go for the TM SOCOM NBB. It's one of the quietest airsoft guns around with the silencer. The LAM sucks, but maybe you could put a luxeon in it.

yea i went out and bought the TM Mk 23 Socom. It was $210 in the end, with gas and 2500 bbs. I really do love it though. it fires nice, the suppressor actually works, just like wierdo said. I'm not really sure how much gas to put in it though lol. i get nervous when filling up with the gas, and the instruction manual is nowhere to be found.

I picked up a P-90 and a MP-5A3 for the boy and I to play with and use at Halloween but most of my toys are the real deal. If your going to rock-n-roll go class3 and be done with it. All of my handguns are for service use, hunting, and competition shoots. I have trimmed down alot of that stuff since I don't shoot nearly as much as I used to.

Doesn't matter, the instruction manual is in Japanese anyway. Just fill the magazine until it fills no more. It can take it, the mag is made of metal. It won't explode, if that's what you worry about.

Just don't tinker unless you know what you're doing.

Gas powered= metal= $80 (+/-)
Spring powered=plastic=$5-10

I got two of the spring ones so I can modify them into SW blasters.

its just the flash hider. i could make it black but it would be illegall. i did however just purchase a silencer. the flash hider comes off easily and ill swap the two out.

No, unless that's local law to you. You're in CA... they're tightwads, but federal law it isn't. Federal law states only for transport. That's why high end airsofts don't have it when you see them in pics. They just put an orange removable plug.

MR has to do this on their replicas. :wink:
