1.5" Sink Tube Overlay?

What would be a good overlay for the 1.5" sink tube sold here? PVC, maybe?

1 1/4" 160psi PVC will fit loosely over a 1.5" sink tube.

That's what I used for the grips and emitter shroud on this old EL sink tube saber that I built back in 2002.

That's actually a comfortable looking grip. Did you use regular flat black spray paint to color it or another method?
