hi, sorry if this was already discussed but i used the search function and couldnt find anything
so, i have a led ladder type blade which draws about 2.5A, with a power supply of 4 AA 2600mA NiMH batteries
my concern regards the 4AA battery holder, which for the first time today had one of the springs which hold the batteries in the case and provide a contact begin to glow red, which then melted the plastic of the case
i was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, knows of a fix, or knows what the reason behind the problem is (i dont think it is a short b/c i checked my wiring thoroughly)
thanks ~ rogue

DO you have any kind of LED drivers, resistors or Buckpuck in your set up? sounds like you need something along those lines.

yeah ive got resistors, namely a .68 ohm 10W

sounds like you are going to need a more sophisticated LED driver option

your resistor is throwing too much juice back into your battery

hmmm, so get 2-3 buckpucks and replace the resistor?

I was thinking more along the lines of Tim's LED driver boards

There is a company, Sunrider used them I think for his Srt90 LED, that makes a 3-6A driver. You may want to PM him.

thank you all, i found where the problem was, one of the prongs on the kill switch was bent and was shorting it out, im lucky I pulled it out or my parents wouldve been pissed with battery acid everywhere.
Thanks again - Rogue
