Is it possible with or without modification to use the Switch Bezel Nut to hold the Illuminated Switches or are they even larger than the Bezel Nut?

Thanks

no they are way larger. its for use this (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Push-onpush-off-switch-with-black-button--P40.aspx) switch size.

With the Illuminated AV switch you put the nut on the inside of the hilt and the switch is very long so you will need either the switch bezel http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Bezel-for-illuminated-switches-P448.aspx or box style 4 http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Activation-box-style-4-P415.aspx

These act as spacers and keept the switch bron bottoming out inside the hilt.

I don't really get how you thought that could work. Either you think the bezel nuts are huge, or that AV switches are tiny. Or you don't understand how the standard and AV switches mount in a hilt.

Maybe you missed page 2 of the Switches section.

No, I understand completely well how the AV switches work, thank you. I've just never seen the Bezel Nut in person before and thought perhaps they were wide enough (bored out) to accommodate an AV switch. Perhaps no one had thought to bore them out before, not everything must be used as is of course, modification is what saber building is all about. ;)

Alas this appears not to be the case, thank you for the info. Does anyone have any other improvised or unconventional solutions for mounting AV switches? (besides the pommel mount of course)

The AV bezel is what you need. The AV switches can of course be screwed into the hilt if the hole is tapped, but the problem is that the switches are too tall (Like Rhyen said). I did this once on an oppressor upgrade, but it will also work for MHS:

I've used a rubber washer as a small bezel for the switch. I had to trim the solder tabs in order to get the switch to fit in the saber, but it turned out well. Very low-profile.
