First off hello. Second I really want to build my first saber and could use some help. This is the saber I want to build.

Let me start off with saying i am very comfortable around any tool and wiring will not really be a problem. What i really need the most help with is what makes a tight sleeve on a powder coated shaft.

I read up on almost everything I could but couldn't seem to find what fits well over what. Like do Sink Tubes fit well over TCSS bodies.

Thanks for any help in advance. If this first one works out i want to build a second so that i can dual wield them.

P.S. couldn't find the max image size so i made it that big. if it is to big let me know and I will fix it.

Edit: Also Where could I find the little ribbed extender that would go in between the body and the blade holder. I looked all over this site and nada.

1.5 inch sink tubes will fit over the MHS parts, as long as those parts do not have too many coats of paint on them (see my recent post on that problem!).

I'm not sure there is an extension for what you're looking for (others will correct me if that is wrong) but maybe Tim could do some custom work and add it to the bottom of the blade holder or top of the hilt, assuming you're ordering those parts?

MHS od is 1.45" the sink tubes and sleeves at the store fit well.

800 x 600 is max.

All parts can be found in the MHS section at the store.

You would have to ask Tim to do one for you, try emailing him at sales@thecustomsabershop.com and see what he says. good luck! :D

Do any of you know how much to the OD will the black wrinkle PC will add? That is what i was wanting to use but i am not sure how thick it is.

Well do you know what you want to have in your saber? Which LED? Sound?

I sure do. anything that is green will be LEDs and i would really like sound even if i have to tear apart a wal-mart saber.

Also I want the blade pretty bright. Thinking of switching to purple though.

If you want green then I'd go with a Seoul P4...but it's out of stock right now. If you want purple, they're discontinuing Luxeon IIIs on TCSS...try a Google search for a purple. As for sound, you can get a MR on eBay for about $50, or you can tear apart a cheap Hasbro saber, they have different sounds for different sabers. You'll probably want a light-side one, but dark side sounds are good too. :)

There are no purple high powered LEDs, they don't exist.

There are 2 ways to get a purple blades.

1.) Use a white LED and some kind of filter. This will not be as bright as a pure colored LED, because you are filtering out all the other wavelengths but the purple.

2.) Use an RGB LED or another type that has multiple colored dies. You wire up the blue and red dies, but since the red over-powers the blue, you have to resistor the red to dim it down to get the shade of purple that you want. Not something recommended for the inexperienced saber smith.

Thanks. option 2 sounds better. I have a good bit of experience with electronics so it shouldn't be a problem. i am going to go get a test sink tube tomorrow to practice on. hope it turns out well.

If you want purple, they're discontinuing Luxeon IIIs on TCSS...

Firstly, what do they have to do with purple
Secondly, Lux 3's are being discontinued. Everywhere. They are being replaced with the much better Luxeon Rebel.
