Some people already knew this but I thought I'd post this here as well.
I was on holiday in Tunisia between the 20th and 27th of June.
Tunisia was amazing. Very hot and sunny, it didn't even rain once but it had rained the week before. At one point after a hour long camel ride my eyes were all red and swollen, I'm not used to all that sun!!!! I avoided getting sunburnt until the last day when I foolishly decided to go for a hour long walk along the beach with a vest on instead of my usual t-shirt. I did have suncream on but I still burnt my shoulders.
I went on a sahara tour and got to see some of the star wars sets, Hôtel Sidi Driss, ie the Lars' homestead, and the Mos Espa Set.
Ok so heres some pics, this is only a few of them:
Lars' Homestead:

I didn't have long at either place, about 20 minutes at the Lars' Homestead and about 30 minutes at the Mos Espa set. That seems long but believe me it wasn't.
The sahara tour was a 2 day couch trip, most of the time we where on the coach, up to 2 hours at one time!!!. We went to other places like a roman colosseum but none of them were as cool as the star wars places. We where at the Lars' Homestead in the afternoon of the first day and at the Mos Espa set in the moring of the second day, when I say morning I mean morning. We where out the hotel by 5am, we had a short stop at the salt lake then got to the set by 8am after transfering to 4x4's to get across the desert.
I got a little memento from the Mos Espa set, a 1 litre coke bottle full of sand. Heres my dad filling it up:

I've ordered some small glass bottles and I'm going to fill them up with the sand and give them to my friends as gifts.
I've also got a video:

Do you recognise any of it from the film? Look out for the rocks where qui gon and darth maul fought, they're just where the driver mentions the set of the English Patient.
Just as a side note the driver of the 4x4 was doing just under 70 mph over the sand dunes. It doesn't look that fast on the video but he really was going fast, at one point he almost lost control.
If it wasn't for the sun and heat, Tunisia would be a great place to live. Funny thing was, 10 minutes after getting out the airport in Glasgow it started to rain, it only lasted a few minutes. Good old Scottish summer time. :D
