I found this really neat sensor. I think this would be very useful. It would be only a part of want you would need but its a start. I wouldn't be as good as the Crystal Focus though. (Man i want one):D
Well here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_gNNeELypg&feature=related

Its just an accelerometer.
3 soundboards use them. Including CF.
Cool little blinky thingie though.
doing that to full blown motion/gesture recognition is a big jump.
I could whip that 'example' up in a few seoncds on either the RFX platform or the Arduino platform. ;)
and what he did was more like 'tilt/gravity' checking than actual acceleration checking ;)

i didnt know it was in a CF. Hmmmmm ill try and make a prototype if i could get my hands on one. I have an arduino. Ill have to try that sometime.
EDIT: I found another link that might be useful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWkZkBz8MU0
whats in a CF? (an accelerometer?) is that waht your saying?
a prototype? of what? an Arduino 'demo' using an accelerometer.??
you can buy an accelerometer anywhere.. even RadioShack..
there are tons of basic tuts out there as well..
good luck

Ok. Skottsaber said there was one in the CF. (Hmmm... The sensor just came out.) Maybe a different version. But you cant go wrong with free scale. Any way ill post back here as so as a get the board.

I think maybe just 'accelerometer' in general perhaps? most do generally the same thing..

Yeah. CF uses a 4 axis accelerometer IIRC.

4 axis?
X, Y, Z.....and...........................?

the technology is so advanced, it is not available on a qwerty keyboard.

CF as of now has a 2 axis sensor as of September they will have 3 axis. There are only 3 axes X Y & Z unless someone found the fourth dimension. ;)

ahh yes.. makes sense.
That 'Erv' is a craft fella..
I hear the v5 will read your thoughts.. and see through walls too! (but its an un-documented feature) ;)

I hear the v5 will read your thoughts..
And your brain waves. That helps it anticipate your movements. ;)

OK... perhaps I got that into my head, but I was trying myself to work it out. I was thinking a diagonal between X and Y
Anyway....

lol
Actually, CFv5 will have the latest "F5" 5-axis accelerometer, as seen here:
