So I started from ground up and decided to build the interior chasis. Lots of measuring, drilling and trips to my local hardware store and a friends shop.

Then found a good way to connect it to the blade holder.

When I was done this is what I ended up with.

I'll post more as it comes along.

Lokking good so far, may I ask what your using for the rods? I'm trying to make a better chassi and knowing what to get for the rods would be awesome.

I started with 4/40 threaded rod, (thats what fit the tapped holes in the blade holder), I covered them with aluminium (unthreaded) rods. Then when I put the metal washer in I graduated to 6/32 threaded rods. The aluminium rods I coverd those with were threaded to 6/32.
I found them at an Ace Hardware in my town. I went that route because 8/32 left me with very little space in the middle. That and I did not find aluminium rods threaded inside that were 4/40.
Hope that is some help.

with the blade in.
I used a blue P4 instead of going with the traditional Cyan.
it has a 4.8 volt battery pack

It looks like your camera auto focused on the wall behind your saber. I can't quite tell what I'm looking at.

On the last pic? If so I'm just trying to show it lit up with the blade. Not sure if that last pic is very good.

I'm doing an update on my graflex. Again with more parts from Ace Hardware.

Put a little more thought into battery/electronics, now room for the crystal chamber I skipped on last time.

Nice Graflex. I hope to do a Graflex saber one of these days. Just wondering though, how would the led assembly sit inside the hilt? And how do you set the blade in too? Thanks for the info.

Thanks Jedi-Loreen. Also, how can I do a fully fuctional graflex style switch? I want it all to be somewhat original. I'll possibly have a greflex build in September sometime! ^-^ Gonna get the total for everything.

You're going to have to read through the gallery threads of others who have done Graflex builds and put switches where you want yours. Are you thinking the red button?

Keep in mind though, that you may have to source parts from places other than TCSS, and get creative to get a switch to work there.

You'll already need to get creative with your chassis build.

Alright. I'll try to come up with something. I was just gonna use 3 washers, and three rods, the upper part of the chassis will hold my US 2.5 board, the bottom washer will be sort of a speaker mount. Still gonna try and think of something for a switch. Maybe that tiny mom switch from Radio Shack would work.

The red button IS a switch actuator. Doesn't take much to make it functional. You just gotta think about it for a bit and Im sure you can come up with something;)
