Hi all, I have looked through the forums, but cannot seem to find a DPDT latching switch guide. All I want to know is how I need to connect the wires to the switch (what wires -+ to which of the 8 connections on the switch). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

8 connections? Which switch are you talking about, the Anti-Vandal switches? Normal DPDT switches only have 6.

Those kind of switches aren't hard to understand, try a little Googling to educate yourself about how they work.

This is the one, it has 8 (at least as far as I can tell unless 2 are something other than connectors). I did google it first, just not sure because like you said all the others have 6.

Much to learn you have young one. How to read basic wiring diagrams you should. Need to know this you will.

NO = normally open

NC = normally closed

Two of the connections are the + and - leads to the LED in the switch. Those are pretty self explanitory. The other six are for two separate circuits and can be configured in normally open or normally closed fashion. Depends on how you want the switch to work. If you want it to work where you press it down to turn it on then just use the two pins closest to the neg. lead on either side. The middle pin is your common, it's the one on either side of the middle pin that determines the config of the switch.
