I plan on building a detachable blade similar to the one in this tutorial. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14om

How do I apply power to an EL blade using a 9v power source?

Check the el hilt tutorial. It tells everything you need to light the blade.
the mono jack is connected to the
swi-itch
the switch is connected to the
in-verter
the inverter is connected to the
ba-ttery

If your just going to convert it to a lux, just buy a 20 dollar one on ebay. the sound has to work, but the blade doesnt.

I am talking about damaged fx's where only the sound will work. If your converting you don't need a working blade.

yeah, there are over two days left in that auction, it could(and probly will) go way up. most bids are made within the last few minutes of an auction.

I scored a busted up Anakin for 25 in one of those Ebay auctions. The blade was all kinds of messed up. Looked like it had been stepped on or shut in a door or something. There was a massive crease in the tube about midway down, and serious shorts in the LED array. Sounded fine, though. Except...
Has anyone noticed when the power draw on a MR sound board decreases (owing to unplugged/dead LEDS) the sound effects pitch higher?
