It would be nice if some one was able to design a saber builder for the Iphone.

uh....yeah...

There might be a *little* snag in that.
From looking at the builder (as it is implemented now), I believe it uses Flash?
And in case you haven't heard yet, there is an ongoing "war" between Apple and Adobe...which is supposed to "solved" in the near future with the adoption of HTML5.

Anyway, like Shadar said - looks like you've got yourselves a project!
<translation: you'd probably have to completely (re)write your own builder from near scratch, but then again, you'd probably have to do that anyways>

But think about it this way - if you do make it, you could submit it to Apple to see if they'll sell it in the store and make a profit on it!

Ah. The TCSS saberbuilder App. Wouldn't that be awsome?

But, yeah Cannibal is right on the flash-Apple problem. Actually, it would be easier to write it for Android, since they use straight-forward java and it doesn't cost anything.

I wish I knew Java...

MHS Builder is in fact built with FLASH..

and unless the mobile platform you choose supports flash... its pointless.

(Im not even sure if you found a decent one..that everything would work anyways)

Yeah new project.. right run out and build a 'Saber Builder' app.. =)

Im thinking it will take you a few years to even get to the point of making an app of that magunitude..once you choose your programming language of choice.

Post it when your done.. Id like to see it!..

Matter of fact.. take it up a notch..and do all 3D parts.. (individually).. and then after you pick all your parts..it makes a real time 3D render of the whole saber too..

it supports/runs flash?

can you view the builder? does every 'aspect' work?

(your BB has a normal web browser?)

I dont get into mobile stuff..so hve no clue.

The buttons on the side are a little close together, so it's kinda difficult to get to the type of part that I want. And, you can't zoom in, so it's kinda small, but other than that, it's awesome.

The app runs choppy on my Pocket PC (win mobile platform) It IS an older version (2003?) and it works, just can't move the part very far before needing to re-apply the stylus...

so its a 'real' browser I take it? not a mobile spcific one?

So all functions on the builder work? color changing? drag-n-drag (and snap-to)

what happens when you try to 'save' a build/ do you get a prompt for the Save As box? does it let you save an image to your 'desktop' on the phone?

what happens when you right click? (by default Flash hase a menu that lets you 'zoom')..

thanks

Someone with an actual phone might see better results (mine is just a Pocket PC) but i can try when i get home...

I was just curious about the mobile phone stuff.. never got into it..so I dont know much about it.

Sorry if this is necro-posting, but the saberbuilder should work on the iphone (and ipod/ipod) if it could be ported to HTML5. It wouldnīt be a stand-alone app, but you could run it from a browser and still be as nice as it is. I havenīt written a single line of code for more than ten years, though, and, as already said, this could be quite a task to accomplish...

... But itīd be sooooo cool :D

Although Im not 'up' on all the standards and features of HTML 5.. currntly Im doubting it wouldnt be possible to 'mimic' in HTML alone.

but any Apple product most likely will never support Flash.

so I guess no solutions for iPhone fans. =(

Apple MOBILE devices you mean. I'm on an iMac and Flash works great. Works great on my wife's MacBookPro as well. ;)

correct..mobile..

BUT if Jobs had his way..I doubt it would work on their laptops or desktop machines either..LOL

he hates Flash,... period.

How to Install FLASH on your iPhone:

Do so at your own risk.. myself nor TCSS either condones or takes responsibility for any consequences resulting for these actions.
This is for educational purposes only.

Please check with your warranty and/or laws in your area.

Now TCSS for instance...

I believe you mean "its". In this case, the apostrophe is only used to indicate the contraction for "it is". ;)

It's all good. At least you only made a grammatical error, and not a spelling error. I'd hate for you to lose your status as Head Ambassador of TSSC. :-D
