80% finished. Still need boots (out of stock, don'cha know), over-robe, and a little tailoring for better fit (my weight fluctuates a lot and I decided I don't like having my hands covered ALL the time.)

(leetspeak to avoid getting filterpwned.)
Black crinkle cotton tunic, chili pepper red twill obi, tabard and undertunic d1ckie. (looks like a halter top with a collar) All by Twin Rose designs. Pants are D1ckies cargo pants (not pictured here.) and the boots will be Xelement Executioners. Leather overbelt is a Xelement biker belt. Yes, it's "backwards." I intend to replace the eye-and-post belt straps with trident clips and a leather cover. Also going to "fix" the covertec clip to the bottom of the belt, as trying to clip it to the top is too high to draw comfortably.

If you look closely, I'm wearing the same red contacts as in my avatar.

Pic of the boots I plan on using:

EDIT: I have since learned that these boots are knockoffs of a Harley Davidson design, so I may be going that route.

Reminds me a little of Mortal Kombat (not a bad thing). I think you should post some pics when you have the outer robe. It will definitely pull the whole outfit together nicely.

LOL... nice contacts. At first, I thought it was just natural "red eye" from the flash

Crimson: Strangely enough, I was inspired by the early MK ninja costumes but this design is actually pretty straightforward Jedi-style, if you discount the coloring.

Cannibal: Yeah. I've been a big fan of theatrical contacts and this is an excellent application for them. When I used to work at LaserQuest as a marshall I would wear UV-reactive blues and my eyes would glow in the arena since the whole thing was lit with blacklight.

Where did you get your belt?

It looks like this one:

Those are cool boots. I plan on using the same ones. Cool costume.

Nice costume, dude.

How well do those contacts show up? Like are your eyes REALLY red, or just like a kind of washed out color?

Congrats on the costume.

Sidd: Loreen got it right, that is the same belt. I got mine from Leatherup.com (Can I do that here? It's not a competitor for Tim.)

Skott: You see my avatar icon? They look like that. The iris is opaque so there's a red tinge at the very edge of my peripheral vision but it doesn't impact normal performance.

You look especially nefarious in front of the family photos. Even more so with the baby photos.

You could claim they aren't really your relatives but your display of victims. Stuffed heads are just too tedious to dust.

(Super jealous of your contacts.)

I do really like your belt. How's the movement in it?

Love the belt...and the boots. Nice to put a face to the name.
Good costume

Haha. It was all I could do not to laugh at my wife, who took the shots. She is very amused by this hobby of mine.
That baby in the photos is now my young padawan, with a little red Yoda saber of his own.
The belt is actually pretty soft and bends well. It's not as stiff as, say, a weight belt.

I'll update this post once I've acquired the boots/overrobe.

Here's a suggestion for some cool boots. They're a bit on the expensive side though. http://www.newrockboots.com/

I've said this before, and at the risk of sounding like a solicitor I will say it again. Twin Rose costumes are superb. The pics just don't do them justice. Great start on your costume DD.
