Does anyone know how to convert an Anakin '05 to luxeon... I can't find any information on it. Thanks in advance!

Follow the Anakin tutorial for disassembly and the Vader one for the electronics... The electronics are the same. The only problem is that without Tim's kit (which got delayed because of a mistake) you'll need to put a heatsink in it and modify the holder. There is a thread about that in this forum somewhere. I know I indexed it so you can find it through there.

So Tim IS making a kit for it then?

Yes, they were sent back. There was a mistake in the final drawings for the holder. A screw was drilled and tapped too big.[xx(]

He has already designed it, it's just in the process of getting made and stuff.

Whoo... 5 is a quite a few there. At least you can mess up once with out being out of luck... not that it's all that difficult though.[:D]

Good luck at it when the kits are on sale.[:)]

I am attempting my first conversion and I cannot seem to get the small "posts" near the emitter off without damaging them. The tutorial does not give instructions on how to get these off without damaging them. Does anyone have a good way of getting them off with out messing them up?

Thanks,
jhansen2000

Is there any estimation for when the Anakin kits will arrive?

Right, I was asking if there was any idea when they would be finished being redone.

If you mean the 4 little brass colored pins, a gentle pull with a pair of needle nose pliers will get them out and not damage them unless you just clamp down on them too hard.

It's not the Jedi way....

i'm just curious, are the pairs of the pins connected by the black base or do they come out seperatly

Do-Clo
07-17-2006, 05:42 AM
The pins are individual pieces and come out one at a time, the black section just holds the pins.

Hi everyone Im new to posting on the forum and same with saber building. Iv been waiting for the anakin conversion kit to convert my Ani and in the mean time Iv been beating the heck out of the saber. I picked it up today and swung it and hit it against anouther saber when it suddenly stoped. It just turned off and wont work. Any help? I thought this would be the best place to post this.

Most likely you'll have to open it up. Something got loose be it the batteries or switch.

Most likely a broken wire.

Hi
My dad has got a MR Anakin 05 lightsaber (Well it is mostly mine but anyway) is it easy to convert it and do I need to buy a bunch of stuff? also do you think that a twevle year old can do it?
Thanks

Do-Clo

Check out the tutorial for taking the MR Anakin apart, it is in the tutorial section, Tim is working on a new tutorial for the luxeon conversion. To canvert it you would need the conversion kit, luxeon led, optics and optic holder, and a blade, that is all you need to convert it to a Luxeon saber.

Easy add it up in the store. It'd be around $60 for the electronics and $30 more if you buy a complete blade.
