Just a quick question. Is it safe to assume that the new Led Graflex adapter is also compatible with the brass replica Graflex tops and the electrical pins that are sold in the store?

i dont know about the brass tops sold here, but the brass pins (long and short) should work, because they work on the anakin fx conversion kit....so i am sure he used the same thread pitch on this blade holder for the brass pins

I would assume so, as it's a replica of the original it should be relatively the same size as a real graflex. Why don't you pop Tim an email?

I may if I don't get an answer here first, but I figured I would post it instead of emailing him so others could benefit from his answer.

Since Tim added it to the store this afternoon, I doubt anyone has had the chance to buy one and test it yet. I think you should email Tim and ask him, then post the answer here so everyone will know.

There's no need to get smart Ace. I know no one has tested it yet. I will email him and post the answer here.

What warranted that response? Chill, TR, I don't see Ace's response as being "smart". :|

Ugh... mostly it's just that I have a bad cold and am babysitting the rugrats again... I apologize. I am just pointing out that I know better than to ask the forum members in general, the question was more for Tim. I shot him an email and will wait for a reply.

I just placed an order last night, and then Tim adds this to the store....I could actually use one, too, since I have a complete brass graflex I've been slowly piecing together for a few months now.

lil off topic and i apologize in advance but does anyone know if the luxIII optics will work on the rebels?

Tom recommends them, but with the use of a insulation pad, maybe the pcb is thinner? and needs that slight elevation...

Yes and no, really. They'll work, but really weren't made for the Rebel, so you'll probably lose some of the brightness of the Rebel using the Lux III lenses.

so i guess tims going to have to find lenses to work with them then. i just found leds similar to the rebels at a electronics store an hour from here. bought a blue and a white, ill see how they work with the luxIII lens, have a few other ideas as well.

This may sound stupid, but I can't see any holes for pins in the round sections. Am I missing something?

if you look in the first picture, you can see a circle that is machined out on the side of the blade holder, and inside that circle there is two small holes trilled and tapped for the pins (its a little hard to see but its there.) hope this helps

Oh, I see it now. I was looking in the second picture. Thanks.

I heard from Tim, and these DO fit the brass replicas.

Should I order the long or the short type of brass pins for this?

What material is it made from? Anodized aluminum or black plastic?

I would order the short pins otherwise the long pins would stick out too far. It's probably aluminum because you can't anodize plastic.

Aircraft aluminum, Tim doesn't make plastic parts for hilt pieces.

Plastic also wouldn't work well with a heat sink.

And Tim doesn't make all the parts himself, you know. ;)

depends on the plastic.

Yeah, but I don't think he would offer something that wasn't the best quality.

Of course he wouldn't. I was not implying anything like that.

Yeah, I know you were not. Just threw out what I thought should be said.
