New V3 for Caine Drathul

My buddy was pretty upset when the new TCSS ribbed/choke section came out like 2 days after he received his V3 in the mail. He decided to send it back and have it completely rebuilt for improved stability since he is a dueling beast! The new saber used the AS handwheel, G-flex clamp and BH of the original. It also reused his US 2.5. It got a new 4.8V NiMH battery pack and speaker along with a nice new PJ cone kill key and a back lit g-flex clamp. For some reason this thing is now quite a bit louder. Since the new ribbed section is much shorter than the original, I had to lengthen the 3" MHS piece by 1/2" to fit the electronics in the orientation that he wanted. It also retains the "touch plate" activation feature and reverse sound along with recessed recharge/kill port. This saber is a rock and should stand up to anything that Gorilla Dueling can throw it's way.

Particulars:

US 2.5
4.8V NiMH rechargeable battery solution
2.1mm Recharge/kill (recessed Jay-Gon style)
LDM "Touch plate" activation
Reverse sound
"Chamber lit" G-flex clamp
Real AS handwheel
PJ Gold card and accurate Lever
PJ cone knob kill key LDM style
Baked 3 coat enamel finish with 3 layer clear coat
Advanced MHS shim technology ;)

"Gorilla Dueling", hahaha....no dude, I use technique...for reals! ;)

But like I said on FX-Sabers, this is how an MHS V3 should look. I very much look forward to getting my hands on this and doing some serious saberplay. Thanks again for another great piece!

FYI folks, LDM swapped the green P4 to a BLUE P4....since the original blade color was blue in the first trailer of ROTJ....I wanted something unique AND old school. To my knowledge, no one has a blue V3...or V2 or even Hero for that matter.

Here is the original ROTJ trailer...and check it out at the 1:08 mark....the Jabba Sail Barge/Sarlaac Pit scene as far as I know, is the only time the V3 was used onscreen (the V2 was also used in some shots in this scene as well)

Somehow I missed this review. Caine your cam looks a lot brighter and crisper. Just back away from the black mat so you don't end up being served at the next family barbeque..lol

I was doing some research into where I should drill reverse sound for a variation on a Luke ROTJ and noticed I also overlooked the customized choke in the choke/rib combo. Nice job! I looked over every pic I could find and the only visible holes I think I found were under the heatsink. The PC is dark and it's difficult to see. Care to share with us where these holes are?

Yeah, they are right below the neck, right below the heatsink...pic #4 shows them pretty clearly.

See LDM? This V3 is STILL making waves...and the ULTRA BLUE blade that this bad boy projects just makes it sweeter. It's been getting it's fair share of "gorilla dueling" with Nova since it's inception, LOL.
