More information needed.

What "switch modifications" did you do?

check the speaker for damage....they sound all "dull and crusty" when the membrane gets damaged.

As Jay said, the speaker is history, get another good quality speaker like the 1's sold here at tcss store:

I damaged the speaker in my Hasbro Rebel Blaster when I took the blaster apart to remove the sound board to use it in my Nerf Recon modification. It sounded crackly and wasn't very loud anymore, after it had sounded nice and crisp and loud, inside the blaster originally.

So I ended up using a TCSS premium speaker that I had.

i know this isnt allowed. BUT! i live in Australia its not feasible to buy less than $100 worth of stuff to ship here cause shippings expensive..so i might buy local...there like $2.95 so tims not missing out,

Car audio geek here: What are the stats for that little speaker? Frequency response, sensitivity, etc.? Anybody know?

I don't think they usually give all that much info on the little "hobby" speakers like that.

For a Hasbro "el cheapo" board, most any little speaker will do the trick since the board output is like 4 bit or 8 bit or something.
