the coolest double bladed saber system i have EVER seen  I like how every intricate detail on the hilts are sleek and low profile, and at the right places attention getting. these are really nice, i really do like them

I like it, but that thumb screw is kind of an eyesore and ruins the lines of the hilt, IMO.

Understand that it's probably there to be able to help disconnect the sabers quickly, but maybe you could cut it down a bit.

Lori, I also have a button head screw that I made to work as well. I just like the thumbscrew as it is easy to connect/disconnect.

Thanks for the compliments :)

Nice hilts. Love the paint job on them. I remember when that coupling system concept was shared to all of us. You have made great use of it.

Double blades are always interesting to see the inventive ways they are held together.

These two are probably my favorite of your recent builds. Nice job LM.

Wow. Something about black paint and red blades.....

Are those Lux III's? You never specified, or was that too boring to be on the list?

i actually like the thumbscrew even if it could be cut down shorter. as lord maul stated he can interchange the thumbscrew with a set screw, but i think the thumbscrew looks fine. if you look at darth maul's double bladed saber from episode I, there are a ton of knobs and button like features that stick out all over the hilt. so in otherwords i appreciate the look and function. but i do see where jedi-loreen is coming from, because it sticks out from the set screw above it in the pic. just different tastes in saber features though :D

Good work, Alec. I love the linking system that you put in your staffs. Keep it up!

Maybe some threads down the end will work as well.

Same system, but without the retention screw.

Just a thought.

Not sure what you mean. They are an overlay sold in the store that I painted black.

Mihunai - The whole point about this connection system is that there are no threads. I find unscrewing sabers to be very annoying.

Just curious, did you make the couplers or have somebody else make them...

Pretty ingenious.

Lord Maul

The couplers are stock MHS parts except for one piece which I had custom machined.

I was just wondering where are the sound holes on these sabers?

Lord Maul
03-02-2010, 06:04 PM
Reverse sound. The holes are in the choke point. ;)

do you have pictures of the sound holes?

Lord Maul

You can see them a bit in this progress shot.
