Did it on mine too but it took the info anyway, by the way if you switch views you can look up your house but the pictures are not current and the resolution is not real close but it is fun to play with.[:D]

mine finally works. if you look closely, my house isn't far from the position where my name is on the map. my street is Rutgers Pl. My house is the one on the top side of the street all the way on the left corner. Don't go eggin my house now LOL.

Use subject line of "add me to map"
forum user name
city
state

If you know your latitude and longitude then give me those also

If you dont use citys and states then just use what would be the equivalent

Make sure you update your profile with the city and state also.

Heck Mi Gin I posted up my town and state in the profile but I'm not in there yet. Being that it's a google map ERV can get on there though and you can click and drag and see the whole word

Tim- Thanks seems that google has me living in jail[:D] I guess that's why you have Chesterfield Courthouse instead of Chesterfield. Pretty funny since that is the old courthouse that is now the police headquarters. Very fun this map is.

Jedi Loreen- That would be an issue that you will have to take up with google. Go get em[;)]

Mi Gin- Erv can still get on there the whole world is on that map you just need to click and drag.
These google maps are awsome for directions since you can move them to show detail, I load up everything I want on the laptop before we head out and it's cheaper then gps stuff.

Well, I look at it this way... If you take the proper precautions and don't give out your info randomly no one could definativly find me knowing my name and city unless I wanted them to.

I once stated to someone I probably couldn't find my own roommates real (i.e. not his dorm) address even if I knew name and city.

Proper precautions... that's the key. Unlisted phone numbers means nothing to look up.

Like a smart cookie knowing that I attend the university of florida could try looking me up in the campus directory. I went and requested that my records be kept private... so I think the only thing you can see in the campus directory is my major and other silly stuff.

I've googled myself and screenames too... nothing but this one feedback I gave for a purchase. Zip. Nada.

And on the total opposite end of the spectrum everything about me is out there if you really give a $#!^ enough to go looking for it. I have worked security of one kind or another for what seems like forever and have learned way to much about how insecure everything really is. I don't have anything worth a damn to anyone though so I figure if someone wants to find me they will. How in the heck do you think the bill collectors are so good at what they do. (Yep did that for a few weeks too. NOW that IS a crappy job)

I like when people talk about privacy concerns, when in reality there is nothing private. Your internet browser track your every click, Google tracks and saves your every search string, Gmail saves every email you ever sent in their database, your Blockbuster card tracks your viewing preferences, your credit card companies track your spending, your supermarket tracks your eating habits from your discount card, your pharmacy knows what drugs you are on, your image is caught on video all day every day as you are out, your gas card tracks how much you drive while your smartag or easypass tracks your driving locations, your cell phone gives away where you are at any given time, etc etc etc. Anything anyone wants to know about you is out there if they know where to look.

I'm going to be in your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks.

Heading up to Niagara Falls for our anniversary.

We used to go up there a lot, it's where I proposed. It's just far enough away where we're away from everything, but not too far to drive. Plus it's nice up there and a big tourist trap, so there's a bunch to do, or nothing at all. What ever you feel like doing.

I think I'm going to drink at the Beer Garden at the falls until it closes again.[:p] The only problem is that by that time all the public bathrooms are locked, so the walk back to the hotel can be a long one... Especially if you stop to watch the fireworks too.[V]

Edit: the spelling was bugging me...
