Hello all,

Can't find any specific answers on this subject. I wanna experiment with overdriving a Seoul P4 green to about 1400mA.

I've read of a few people suggesting using 2 700mA buckpucks, but it usually veers off topic before anyone gets into the details.

I would prefer to not have excess of wires, simplicity would be favored here.

I've also heard of using an LED driver to achieve 1200mA or more, which method is preferred?

My set up would be with 4 AAA batteries, Seoul p4 green, and the standard push on/off switch.

Also are there any visual aids as far as the wiring is concerned?

Any help would be appreciated...:?:

If you're after simplicity and less wires I'd go for the adjustable driver here: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Adjustable-LED-driver-P497.aspx

Yes the easiest way would be that adjustable driver

I am planning on using that in my next build to over drive a P4 as well

Any visual aids on wiring this?

Not that I know of.

There are only 4 wires to hook up to it: battery positive and negative and LED positive and negative. The connections are labeled.

The PWM connection isn't used when using this board alone.

That connection gets used in conjunction with this Add on board:

And they both get wired together like this:

So with these two boards together it controls the output to the LED for overdriving, and flashes on clash? If I read this right, if you were using these with a cheap hasbro sound setup would it bypass the hasbros blink on clash setup and instead flash brighter on clash?

I'm asking because with the new better sounding hasbro board and these drivers together, it looks like I could have most of the things I was looking for in a board and have it be under $100.

Unless I've misunderstood something. :-)

Nope, you are understanding it correctly. ;)

Awesome, I'll start keeping an eye out for these then.

THANKS J-LO!!! Perfect, just what I needed...I'm ordering this week.
You can use the 2 with a hasbro board overdriven??? should be able to handle up to 1200mA right?>what about a MR board?

I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're saying, Yama. You're only driving the LED with the driver boards, not the Hasbro board.

J-Lo:

True...

I was just speaking out of curiosity, just in case I wind up wiring it with a sound board (if possible)

I'm almost finished with my main saber, just debating on weather or not to do sound...since I'm using it for show/dueling the sound would kinda get old dueling it for an extended period of time I think.
