I looked at most of the pictures of the red LED's and they looked almost a little to orange to me (and I was looking at red not red-orange). What I wanna know is are they really a good looking red or will I be disappointed?

I know the red I(in the MR section) have looks a true red to the naked eye....but the camera makes it look kinda orange-red, but like I said to the naked eye it is actually a deeper red. Remember that the camera kinda skews colors, they will do screwy things sometimes, like with the amber one I had(In the MHS section)....in pics it looks more yellow in the pics than in person.

The camera does tend to skew the color towards orange but in person it is a true red, I have one under construction that uses corbins blade film and it looks even more red, I will post pictures when I get it finished.

Yup,
I'd agree. I have a 1w red and a 3w red and both look awesome. But in all my pics they look orange. It's just the camera.

Yup, the camera is a liar.[;)] It sees too much light and it will skew it. That's why say an MR can get the white "cored" look. It overexposed, but the red-red is nice and you shouldn't be worried.

<center>Read the FAQ (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=552) or x-wing won't be happy. :(
Before posting did you check the Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577)?.

As My Sith brother has stated Corbin's film does a great job. Red does not take much to change so anything that alters the LED such as white films will tend to throw it off. I prefer glass beading as most know but is not attainable to most due to cost of equipment. I use Corbins on one of my Vaders and love it. Tim's diffusers work great as i have seen one in person. Make sure you get only quality LUMILEDS led's like Tim sells. The name is inlaid in the star and they are the creator of the Tech. i have bought a couple of knock offs in the past and was dissapointed.

If you think you might have a problem order up some colored discs and pop a red one on. But don't over sith on us!LOL

on the heiland vader saber i made, i used the red/orange 3 watt lux. i have 2 different blades i can use with it. one has corbins film with the reflective film that lets some light through. the other uses tims diffuser tube, with a mirror in it. whats weird is, the corbin film blade shows up as a more orangy color. as seen in the pics i posted, but when i use tims diffuser blade, it looks more red.

its just the way the 2 diffuse the light. both blades show up very bright, tims just a lil less cuz its diffusing the light more.
