I probably should have done this before ordering. But i used the http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?t=6430 basic MHS noob thread. and have chosen these configurations.
* 1 of: 1/8" Adhesive lined heatshrink tubing
* 1 of: 8-32 x 1/2" thumb screw
* 1 of: Screw on LED blade holder style 18
* 1 of: Hilt style 3 with guarded style switch hole
* 1 of: MPS Insert style 6
* 1 of: 2 Wire quick connector
* 1 of: MPS Pommel style 7
* 1 of: Build Your Own Seoul P4 Electronics Kit
* 1 of: LED "Corbin style" Show blade 1" OD (36 inches)
* 1 of: MHS ribbed extension
* 1 of: Powder Coating (Super Wet Black, RIB3)

Im a wee worried that the blade holder is either 1" or 3/4" which means the blade wont fit.
Tim would have told me if they werent appropriate wouldnt he?

All good?

All BHs are 1", the difference between led and el holders is ones got a heatsink and the other has a washer of sorts for the mono jack.

Why are you getting a hilt with a guarded switch hole and no guarded switch on your parts list?

Well, considering that the guarded switch hole is for the guarded switch, what do you think?

well i was just looking at it on the store and so it fits over the top of the p4 button that you get?

Huh? :confused:

P4 button? What are you talking about? A P4 that's in the shop is an LED.

The guarded switch goes into the hole in the hilt from the outside, then you have to tighten the nut that's on the inside of the hilt.

The "standard" switches are easier, especially for new people. The switch goes on the inside of the hilt and you push the button and stem through the hole and the nut secures on the outside.

The Seoul P4 doesnt come with a button you have to order your switches separately. The only thing the Seoul P4 comes with is the LED and the PCB star its soldered to. I just got mine in the mail yesterday

the P4 is an LED (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Seoul-P4--P306.aspx). that is a "light emitting diode" and comes pre-mounted on a star. (Think tiny lightbulb mounted on a metal star.) They do not typically come with any kind of Button, either the type you sew onto your clothes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Button) or the kind that you push also called a switch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Button_(control))....

So I am not sure what J-Lo should have known... I think you need to do a little more reading my friend :rolleyes:

ahh right..thanx my friend. I have buttons at home that will work. i think.

Nah actually its the build you own Seoul p4 electronics kit. You choose your button (switch), resistor, battery holder, optics. So it does come with that stuff.

Call it a switch, then. Buttons in the Store are something else.

This is a button:

And this is a button:

These are switches:

They have buttons, but that's not what they are called.

I still don't understand why you ordered a hilt with the guarded switch hole. The guarded switch is not an option with the P4 Build Your Own Electronics Kit.

It's hard knowing what you're talking about when you use the wrong terminology. We aren't mind readers.

Good luck finding a switch that you already have that will work and fit the large hole properly.

This section of the forum is here so we can help people (especially new ones) make sure they have what parts they need before they order. That they aren't getting parts that they don't need, or parts that won't work together.

Posting after you already ordered means we have to tell you what you should have ordered, and what you now need to order to make everything work.

Well, then you need to slow down, read more and have a plan of what to order and how to put things together.

Not planning can lead to frustration and problems, damaged parts and wasted money.

And please watch your language, this is a family friendly site. I don't know where you are from, but one of the words you used in your last post is considered to be impolite here in the US where most of us are from, and where The Custom Saber Shop is located.
